Mazda heeft details en foto’s vrijgegeven van de facelift die het op de Mazda MX-5 uitvoerde.

Aan de buitenkant vallen vooral de nieuwe grille op en wat chroom dat hier en daar verspreid werd over de wagen heen. De bumper is niet alleen agressiever geworden, maar naar men zegt is de aerodynamica ook een stuk verbeterd. Voorheen kon men uit vijf kleuren kiezen, nu zijn Aluminium Metallic en Metropolitan Grey Mica erbij gekomen, wat het totaal op 7 kleuren brengt.

Aan de binnenkant zijn er lichte wijzigingen doorgevoerd, die de leesbaarheid van het instrumentenbord moeten verhogen. Een nieuw audiosysteem zorgt voor een aangename rit en vanaf heden kan men ook tweekleurige Recaro sportstoelen met Alcantara leder installeren, wat de wagen een stuk exclusiever maakt.

De Mazda MX-5 komt met twee verschillende motoren, een 1.8 liter motor en een 2.0 liter motor. Die eerste kan enkel aan een manuele vijfbak gekoppeld worden, de 2.0 liter motor kan aan een manuele vijfbak, een manuele zesbak én een automatische zesbak gekoppeld worden. De 1.8 liter motor levert 126 pk en 167 Nm, de 2.0 liter motor 160 pk en 188 Nm. • MZR 2.0-litre petrol revised for better performance feel and top

maximum torque of 188 Nm at 5,000 rpm
– 500 rpm higher rev-limit (7,500) for livelier acceleration feel
• Revised six-speed manual transmission for smoother, more
precise shifting
• New induction sound enhancer (ISE) for a sporty engine sound
